NOT FOR SALE

I have always been hesitant to draw tigers. They are one of the most frequently depicted subjects in wildlife art, and I often felt there was little I could add that was not already done.

When preparing for an art competition, however, I was required to draw a wild cat. I was initially considering a snow leopard, although all options were still open. But then I had a dream. I was at home when a tiger visited. He was calm and peaceful, allowing me to slowly approach him. After a while, he lied down and closed his eyes. As all cat owners may know (small or big), a high level of trust.

To me, this was my sign to draw a tiger. Not with their eyes as the main focus, portraying the tiger as the dangerous predator he is. But instead, one with his eyes closed. Showing that, after all, they are just big cats.
