Wildlife

Wildlife has always been at the heart of my artistic practice. Through pastel and pastel pencil, I create highly detailed drawings that celebrate the beauty, individuality, and presence of animals from around the world.

My work begins with observation. I am fascinated by the textures, expressions, and subtle details that make every species unique. By carefully layering colour and texture, I aim to create drawings that invite viewers to pause, look closely, and reconnect with the natural world. The animals are not placed within elaborate narratives; instead, they are allowed to stand on their own, revealing their character and quiet beauty.

Many of the animals I depict are species that inspire wonder, admiration, or personal memories. Whether it is a powerful rhinoceros, a silent lynx, or a familiar garden bird, I hope each artwork creates a moment of connection. Rather than telling a fixed story, these drawings leave room for viewers to bring their own experiences, emotions, and memories to the encounter.

Underlying the work is a deep appreciation for wildlife and a growing concern for its future. As habitats disappear and species face increasing pressures, I believe that learning to truly see and appreciate animals is more important than ever. Through my art, I hope to encourage that sense of wonder and remind people of the beauty that still exists around us.
